ICE Close: Canola Down with Soy, Harvest Pressure

Canola futures ended modestly lower on Wednesday, as weakness in Chicago soybeans and soybean oil weighed.

Canola had traded higher earlier in the session, supported by rising crude oil prices and a weaker Canadian dollar, but those gains came under pressure as U.S. oilseed futures declined.

Seasonal harvest pressure added to the weaker tone as Prairie farmers continued to make progress following earlier weather-related delays. Manitoba reported that its canola harvest was 86% complete as of Wednesday, up from 74% a week earlier, while harvesting is also now well advanced in much of Saskatchewan and Alberta.

November slipped $1.60 to $811.70, and January fell $2 to $824.60.
